The boxes are 38cm wide, 60cm long and 33cm high. Their capacity is 56 litres and you are able to stack them on top of each other when they are full. When empty they stack inside each other.
If you order too many don’t worry we will only charge you for the ones you use and we will collect the spares when we collect the full ones.

1. Parties to the agreement and definitions
1.1 This agreement is between Archive Warehouse Limited (trading as The Storage Service, a company registered in England and Wales under number 7508369 with registered offices at 43 Market Place, Romford, Essex, RM1 3AB hereafter referred to as "The Storage Service", “TSS” "We" “Our” or "Us", and "You" (a user of The Storage Service products and services) hereafter referred to as “You” “Your” “you” “your”
1.2 By placing an order with TSS you are bound to the Terms and Conditions as set out below. It is important that you read them carefully and if there are clauses that you don’t fully understand that you seek advice. If you have any specific questions about the terms and Conditions set out below we ask that you put them in writing and email them to email@example.com
1.4 TSS reserve the right to amend these Terms from time to time. Every order will ask you to read the Terms and agree to them before proceeding with your Order.
1.5 Definition of Terms:
1.5.1 “Annual Period” means each 12 month period from the date of the Initial Payment Date.
1.5.2 "Collection Date" means, the date specified in your Order for the collection of your Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s).
1.5.3 "Customer Account" means a customer account which has been created by you as part of the TSS registration process.
1.5.4 "Delivery Date" means, the date specified in your Order for the delivery of your Storage Boxes and / or Oversized Items.
1.5.5 “Early Withdrawal Payment” means a payment due when you request all your Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) back before the end of your Long Term Storage Commitment. This payment will be the standard non discounted monthly storage payment minus your total discounted storage payments made to date.
1.5.6 “Initial Payment Date” means the date TSS take the first payment against an Order.
1.5.7 “Long Term Storage Commitment” mean a commitment of more than a one month rolling agreement to store your Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) for which in return you receive a reduced storage rate. The term you select on your Order is the term your agreement will roll over for at each expiry date.
1.5.8 “Minimum Term” means a 3 month period which you agree to pay for Storage for, for each Storage Box and / or Oversized Item sent to TSS and starts on the Service Commencement Date.
1.5.9 “Payment Date” means the date that your recurring monthly payment for Services is due.
1.5.10 "Service(s)" means any service(s) offered on the Website.
1.5.11 “Service Commencement Date” means the earlier of the date your Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) are received into Storage or the date two weeks following the delivery of your Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) if they are not received into Storage.
1.5.12 “Service Request” means a request for TSS to deliver or collect Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s)
1.5.13 "Storage Boxes" means the boxes provided by TSS in which your Storage Box Items are packed.
1.5.14 “Storage Box Items” means all items inside a Storage Box(s) you have in storage with TSS
1.5.15 "Terms and Conditions" or "Agreement" means these terms and conditions.
1.5.16 "Website" means TSS website at www.thestorageservice.com, any sub domain of www.thestroageservice.com or any subsequent URL that TSS may replace it with.
15.1.17 “Wardrobe Box” means a cardboard box for hanging clothing items in.
1.5.18 "VAT" means Value Added Tax.
2. Placing an Order with The Storage Service
2.1 you can make an Order for Services either on the TSS Website, by phone or by email. The process to place an Order with TSS is as follows:
2.1.1 Follow the order wizard on our Website
2.1.2 Call us on 0203 773 2433 and one of our team will guide you through the Order process on the TSS Website
2.1.3 Email us with your contact information at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will call you back
2.2 During the Order process set out at section 2.1 above, if you don’t already have a Customer Account, one is created for you.
2.3 you will be asked to provide a password as part of the registration process to open your Customer Account. you must use all reasonable steps to keep your password confidential, and we ask that you inform us immediately if you suspect your password has been compromised.
2.4 When you place your first order you will be directed to the PayPal website where you will be asked to agree to their terms and conditions. If you don’t have a PayPal account there is an easy to follow sign up process on the PayPal website which allows you to create an account and link this to your credit card, debit card or bank account. In doing so you are setting up an Agreement to allow TSS to debit your PayPal account for Services detailed in your Orders. All Orders you place with TSS will fall under this PayPal agreement and the relevant charges will be debited at the stated amount and date on your Order confirmation.
2.5 Once TSS receives your Order you will receive an Order confirmation email which confirms our receipt of your Order at which time the Order will become legally binding. Each Order shall be subject to the TSS Terms and Conditions and shall form a separate Agreement between you and TSS. If your Order includes Oversized Item(s), the Order for the Oversized Item(s) becomes legally binding once the TSS driver has agreed to accept your Oversized Item(s).
3. Storage Services
3.1 TSS will carry out duties as set our below:
3.1.1 TSS shall deliver Storage Box(s) set out in the Order, free of charge, on the date specified in the Order to the address that is registered against your Customer Account.
3.1.2 If TSS is unable to access your address, or, there is no one available when the TSS driver arrives to deliver the Storage Box(s), TSS will leave you a calling card telling you of the unsuccessful attempt to deliver your Storage Box(s). You will need to contact TSS to rearrange delivery. Please note that you may incur an additional charge in accordance with Appendix A – Additional Charges for the redelivery.
3.1.3 TSS shall collect the Storage Box(s) free of charge, as well as any Oversized Item(s) at the date and at the address specified in the Order and then store your Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) for you. If your Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) are not ready for collection as the TSS driver arrives, the TSS driver will have to leave for their next job and you will need to rebook your Collection which will incur a collection charge at the prevailing collection charge at that time. If no one is available at your address when TSS come to collect the Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s), TSS will leave you a calling card telling you of this. you will need to contact TSS to rearrange collection for which there will be a collection charge.
3.1.4 TSS will use its reasonable endeavours to collect or deliver with in the requested time slot. If it becomes apparent that this is not achievable due to traffic or other factors, TSS will contact you to make alternative arrangements.
3.2 TSS ask that you take care to ensure there is nothing inflammable or illegal in your Storage Boxes and that it is sealed with the security tags provided.
3.3 Only the first collection or attempted collection in respect of an Order is free of charge unless the reason for the failed collection is the fault of TSS.
3.4 TSS will store your Item(s) until such time as you submit a Service request to retrieve them through the TSS Website. Please note that if you submit a Service Request for all of the Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) which make up an Order to be returned within the Minimum Term no refund will be given and if it is within your Long Term Storage Commitment you will need to make an Early Withdrawal Payment.
3.5 If a delivery of Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) from TSS to you fails for any reason other than the sole fault of TSS, you shall continue to be charged for the Storage at the amount stated in your Order and any redelivery attempt will incur an additional charge.
3.6 Please note the following with regard to collection, delivery and return of Storage Box(s) and Oversized Item(s):
3.6.1 TSS will not deliver or collect Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) to or from any address other than the one registered against your Customer Account, unless, it has been agreed in writing prior to the requested collection or delivery date.
3.6.2 If your delivery address has a lift, we will deliver and / or collect Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) to the door on any floor serviced by the lift, as long as Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) are capable or allowed to be transported in the lift. We are only able to deliver or collect to your front door up to a maximum of the 6 floors above or below the ground floor if your property does not have a lift. It is at the discretion of the TSS delivery driver at the time of delivery or collection to either deliver or collect to or from levels higher than the 6th floor above ground level or lower than the 6th level below ground level or choose to abort the delivery or collection.
3.7 Dates and times TSS confirm for deliveries or collections are estimates only. Whilst TSS use reasonable endeavours to be on time, please be aware that traffic congestion, bad weather, or other events may result in the late or cancelled deliveries or collections. If TSS have to cancel a delivery or collection, TSS will contact you to reschedule your delivery or collection time and date. In any event, TSS shall not be liable for any delay or cancellation of a delivery or collection.
3.8 you or your nominated representative, shall sign the delivery drivers scanning device or paper work order as confirmation that the Items have been collected or delivered.
3.9 If it is not possible to obtain a signature the Items will not be delivered or collected. Any additional costs incurred storing and / or redelivering the Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) will be charged in accordance with Order and / or charges set out in Appendix A – Additional Charges.
3.10 you agree your signature obtained by the TSS driver when delivering or collecting Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) shall be confirmation the Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) were delivered or collected.
3.11 you shall be responsible for:
3.11.1 Ensuring that TSS such the appropriate access to your property to carry out their duties and that this address has adequate parking.
3.11.2 Ensuring that either you or your nominated representative are present during the delivery or collection of the Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s).
3.11.3 Providing TSS with new contact details should you move property. Failure to do so may result in an additional charge should TSS visit the wrong property for a collection or delivery.
3.11.4 Ensuring that the Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) are securely and safely packed so as not to cause any damage or injury to:
a. the Storage Box.
b. the Oversized Item.
c. our property, vehicles, staff.
d. any other items, property or person.
3.11.5 Ensuring that all Storage Box(s) lids can be shut flat once packed. The TSS driver may refuse to accept Storage Box(s) if they are overfilled and the integrated lid doesn’t close flat. The TSS drivers carry spare boxes so you will be offered an additional box to move the surplus Storage Box Items into.
3.11.6 Ensuring that all Storage Box(s) have their tamper-proof seals attached when they are collected.
3.12 you warrant that the Storage Box(s) were packed by you or one of your representatives and once the tamperproof seal is attached, anything inside found to be illegal or in violation of section 4.3 is your responsibility and you agree to indemnify TSS against any claims charges costs or demands made against or incurred by TSS on any breach of this clause.
3.13 you agree to keep the weight of each Storage Box below 25kg. TSS drivers have the right to refuse to collect any item that weighs more than 25kg. Please note that additional charges may be incurred to revisit your property to attempt collection for a second time or to delivery more free boxes for which heavy items could be transferred into.
3.14 you are responsible for packing your Oversized Item(s). TSS may choose to repackage Oversized Item(s) once in the TSS facility if TSS deem more protection is necessary. The costs of this repacking will be passed onto you and is detailed in Appendix A – Additional Charges.
4. Storage Box Items
4.1. You warrant that the content of any Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) you ask TSS to handled or store or on your behalf is your own property, or that you have permission of any persons owning or owning an interest in the Storage Box Items and / or Oversized Item(s) you ask TSS to handle and / or store. You agree to indemnify TSS against any claims charges costs and demands made against or incurred by TSS on any breach of this condition.
4.2 Any boxes or containers which you ask TSS to handle and store must be in good condition and of sufficient quality so they can be transported and stored safely.
4.3. You are expressly forbidden to put any of the following items into your Storage Box(s) and / or Oversize Item(s):
4.3.1. Illegal or stolen items.
4.3.2. Any organic lifeform living or dead.
4.3.3. Perishable goods.
4.3.4. Firearms, weapons, ammunition, explosives.
4.3.5. Flammables of any kind (petrol, diesel, oil, paint, cleaning solvents etc).
4.3.6. Hazardous or toxic items of any kind.
4.3.7. Any items that emit fumes or an odour of any kind.
4.3.8. Chemicals, radioactive materials or biological agents.
4.3.9. Compressed gases.
4.3.10. Any item of high value or requiring specialist storage including without limitation, fine wines, antiques, jewellery, bonds, securities, stamps, fine art or bullion.
4.3.11. Any item which may adversely affect anything outside of your Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s).
4.4. TSS reserve the right to open the Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) if TSS are legally required to do so by police, fire services, local authority or by court order or if TSS believe the Storage Box(s) or Oversized Item(s) contain any of the items listed in clause 4.3 or if TSS has to do so in an emergency or to prevent injury or damage to customers property.
5. Insurance and Liability
5.1. Use of the TSS Services and Website is at your sole risk. In no event shall TSS be liable to you in respect of loss of profits, business, revenue, goodwill or anticipated savings or indirect or consequential loss or damage (whether caused by negligence or otherwise) or the acts or omissions of any third party (whether as a result of negligence or otherwise).
5.2 The Storage Box(s) are the property of TSS, and shall only be used by you in accordance with this Agreement and any Order. Nothing in this Agreement will cause the ownership of any Storage Box(s) to transfer to you with the exception of you making a £18.99 payment per Storage Box to purchase them.
5.3 TSS insures its Storage Box(s). It is your sole responsibility to insure your Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s). TSS strongly recommend that you arrange your own insurance.
5.4 It is your responsibility to ensure that your Storage box Item(s) are appropriately protected and packed in the Boxes.
5.5 Where you have provided your own Storage Box(s), it is your responsibility to check that these Boxes are of the correct size, in good condition and of sufficient quality to store your Storage Box Items and be transported and moved safely within the TSS storage facility.
5.6 It is your responsibility to check returned Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) for missing Storage Box Item(s) and / or damage. You must notify TSS of any missing Storage Box Item(s) and / or damages within 24 hours of the Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) being returned to you. Your communication to TSS must be in writing, preferably by Email to email@example.com and specifically outline the nature of the alleged loss and / or damage including photographic evidence of the condition before and after the Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) were given to TSS.
5.7 Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, save in the case of death or personal injury caused by the negligence of TSS, the liability of TSS to the Customer shall not exceed the charges paid by you to TSS during in the last 12 months.
6. Payment and Charges for Services
6.1 All payments for TSS Services will be paid via PayPal under the Agreement you accept when you place your first Order. All subsequent Orders will fall under the original Agreement you have set up and charges shall continue to be debited in accordance to the Terms and Conditions until such time you choose to cease to use the TSS services and cancel your PayPal Agreement.
6.2 After each Order you place you will receive a confirmation email providing the details and charges of what you have purchased.
6.3 When a TSS driver visits your property to fulfil your Order, if you decide to vary your Order and put more or less Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) into Storage than the number specified in your Order, your charges against the Order will be amended accordingly and an email confirming any amendments will be sent to you.
6.4 you agree to pay for the TSS Service on a rolling monthly basis following the Minimum Term, with charges payable in advance:
6.4.1 Charges for the full Minimum Term will be payable at the earlier of:
6.4.2 The date on which your Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s), are received at our storage facility
6.4.3 If the Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) are not received at our storage facility within two weeks of your Storage Box(s) being delivered to you, we use the date we delivered the Storage Box(s) as the date of the Initial Payment Date
6.5 Charges for storage for the month in which a Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) are returned to you is payable in full.
6.6 Storage charges for Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) returned to you during the Minimum Term will not be refunded.
6.7 If you Order a Long Term Storage Commitment you will receive a percentage discount on your monthly storage charges. If you remove your Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) prior to the expiry of the Long Term Storage Commitment, you shall be liable to make an Early Withdrawal Payment.
6.8 All charges are inclusive of VAT.
6.9 We may review and amend our monthly charges for Storage Services from time to time. In the event TSS implement a change to their charges the following will happen:
6.9.1 the new charges will take effect immediately and apply to all new Orders
6.9.2 If you are on a Long Term Storage Commitment, price increases will be implemented on the next payment date which is at the end of your current 6 or 12 month commitment.
6.9.3 You will be notified by email to the email address specified in your Customer Account at least 14 days prior to your next payment date for your existing Orders. The email will explain the changes to The charges that will be implemented on the next Payment Date and you have the right to terminate your Agreement within the 14 day period if you so wish in accordance with clause 9.
6.10 In the event you fail to make a payment on your Payment date for any reason, you agree to compensate TSS in full against all reasonable costs and expenses incurred in recovering the outstanding payment(s). TSS may ask a debt collection agency to recover any failed payment(s) from you at any time after a failed payment has occurred.
7. Failure to Pay the Charges for the Services
7.1 In the event that you do not pay the charges or any other payments due under this Agreement, TSS are absolved of any responsibility in respect of the Items, which continue to be held solely at your risk and you authorise us to:
7.1.1 Withhold your Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) and to refuse you access to them.
7.1.2 To open the Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) and inspect and remove the Storage Box Items held within for the purposes of establishing a value of the Storage Box Items
7.1.3 To hold onto and / or ultimately dispose of some or all of the Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) in accordance with section 7.2
7.2 In the event that all outstanding monies are not paid within 30 days following their due date for payment, the following shall apply:
7.2.1 TSS may sell your Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) and transfer ownership of the Item(s) to the purchaser of the Item(s)
7.2.2 Before TSS sells the Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s), TSS shall inform you in writing of the amount of outstanding monies due under your Agreement and that if the outstanding monies are not paid in full within 10 days of the written notice, TSS will sell the Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s)
7.2.3 It is at the sole discretion of TSS to whom the Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) are sold and TSS will use their best endeavours to secure a sensible market price for the Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) being sold.
7.2.4 TSS will use the proceeds from the sale of your Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) to pay the costs incurred by TSS in the selling the Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) as well as to settle any Outstanding monies owed.
7.2.5 If the proceeds from the sale of your Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) are insufficient to settle in full the costs of sale and the outstanding monies, TSS will write to you informing of the amount of monies still outstanding. you will then have a further seven days from the date of the notice to pay your outstanding monies in full before we employ the service of a debt collection agency to recover the outstanding monies.
7.2.6 If the Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) cannot reasonably and economically be sold (for any reason whatsoever) or TSS try to but fail to sell the Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s), you authorise TSS to destroy or dispose of your Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) at your cost.
7.2.7 you agree to pay all reasonable costs incurred in administering the collection of outstanding monies and sale process described in this section 7.2 These costs will include (without limitation) auction costs, removal costs, cleaning costs, destruction costs and our administration costs.
8.1 you have the opportunity to amend or cancel an Order at any time up to 24 hours before the delivery or collection time.
8.2 Cancellation of an Order will not constitute a closure of your Customer Account, which shall continue until closed in accordance with clause 9
8.3 Cancellation by you of part of an Order will not cancel the whole order, the Order shall continue in force in respect of the part of the Order that has not been cancelled.
8.4 Once Services have commenced you will no longer have the right to cancel, you will be required to terminate the Agreement as per clause 9.
9.1. You may terminate this Agreement at any time by requesting the return of your Storage Box(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) and paying in full any outstanding monies owed by you to TSS. Please note if you terminate whilst within your Minimum Term you will not be entitled to a refund and if you terminate within your Long Term Storage Commitment period you will be liable for an Early Withdrawal Payment.
9.2. TSS reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue services offered on their Website at any time without notice.
9.3. TSS may block, terminate or suspend your and any user's access to the Website at any time for any reason in its sole discretion. You will be informed by email if this is to happen.
9.4. You must contact TSS to arrange for return of your Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) within 15 days of the date of termination. If you do not contact TSS within this time period, TSS may dispose of the Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) in accordance with clause 7.
10. Personal Information
11.1 TSS may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
11.2 You shall:
11.2.1 Ensure that the information you include in your Customer Account is complete and accurate.
11.2.2 Ensure that you only purchase Services if you are at least 18 years old.
11.3 TSS shall provide the Services with reasonable care and skill and that the satisfactory quality and delivered in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.
11.4 Each party shall keep in strict confidence all information which is of a confidential nature and which has been disclosed by one party to the other party.
12. Assignment and Sub-Contracting
12.1 TSS may at any time assign, transfer, mortgage, charge, subcontract or deal in any other manner with all or any of its rights under this Agreement and may subcontract or delegate in any manner any or all of our obligations under this Agreement to any third party or agent.
12.2 Should you wish to assign, transfer, mortgage, charge, subcontract, declare a trust over or deal in any other manner with any or all of its rights or obligations under this Agreement you will first seek the written consent TSS
13.1 TSS warrants that it will at all times supply the Services by appropriately qualified and trained personnel who will carry out the Services with reasonable skill and care.
13.2 you warrant that you are entitled to commission TSS to store, transport and otherwise perform the Services on all Storage Box Item(s) and / or Oversized Item(s) pursuant to the Agreement.
13.3 Save as expressly specified in this Agreement, all other terms, conditions, warranties, representations, or guarantees which might have effect between the parties or be implied or incorporated into this Agreement or any collateral contract, whether by statute, common law or otherwise, are hereby excluded, including, without limitation, the express or implied conditions, warranties or other terms relating to the use of reasonable skill and care, or the performance, satisfactory quality or fitness for purpose of any part of the provision of Services.
14. Intellectual Property Rights
14.1 No Intellectual Property Rights of whatever nature in respect of any matter related to the Services or Website shall vest or be deemed to vest by you.
Appendix A – Additional Charges
There may events that in the normal course of service delivery means you incur additional charges. These additional charges and descriptions are set our below and you agree to pay them as part of your Agreement if necessary:
Emergency Service Request - Price on Application
you request that delivery, collection or return of the Storage Box(s) and/or Oversized Item(s) takes place outside of our standard working hours 07:00 – 21:00, Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays.
Service Order Cancellation - £14.99
you cancel a collection or delivery within 4 hours of the scheduled time to complete the Collection or Delivery.
Failed Collection or Delivery - £14.99
The TSS driver was unable to make their delivery or collection due to you not being present at the Address registered in your Customer Account.
High or low floor Delivery or Collection - £14.99 per floor above the sixth floor above ground level or £14.99 per floor below the sixth floor below ground level
If your address is on a level which is not serviced by a lift and is either higher than the sixth level above ground level or lower than the sixth level below ground level the additional handling charge per floor will apply.
Payment Administration - £24.99 per failed payment
TSS attempt to collect your payment from PayPal and PayPal reject the request.
Non Return of TSS Storage boxes - £18.99 per Storage Box, they will then be your property
Following your request to terminate your agreement, TSS will return your Storage Box(s) to on your requested date. If you fail to request the empty Storage Box(s) to be collected from your property with 15 days of the delivery date, TSS will consider this as a request to keep the boxes and apply the charge above per unreturned Storage Box. The Storage Boxes will then be yours.
Unclean or Damaged Storage Box(s) - £4.99 per the Storage Box to clean, £18.99 per Storage Box to replace the damaged one(s)
The Storage box(s) is returned to us either unclean or damaged to the extent it is unusable.
Oversized Item Repackaging – cost price of packing materials and £5.00 handling charge
If the Oversized Item(s) received into the TSS facility are deemed to be insufficiently packaged to protect them, TSS will repackage the item.
